UNIT 5 ENVIRONMENTAL BRIEFINGS FOREWORD The term environmental briefing, for meteorological and oceanographic purposes, is defined as "A concise and direct presentation of factual environmental data that provides aircrews, commanders, or staff officers with an educated basis for decision-making."As an Aerographers Mate Second Class and above, you will be preparing and giving environmental briefings of all types. There are many variations of the types of briefings that may be required of you. They range from the individual pilot weather briefing to the more complex and detailed command and staff briefings. In this unit, we will discuss briefing techniques in Lesson 1 and the types of briefings in Lesson 2. |
